I’m Olivia.
Thank you for being here.
Beyond capturing images, I provide my clients with a deep connection and genuine understanding. My priority is to establish a genuine bond, fostering a sense of comfort and trust in any environment – whether it's the intimacy of a home, a sophisticated hotel, the sanctity of a church, or the tranquility of a location surrounded by nature. My ultimate mission is to ensure my clients feel entirely comfortable to be themselves, allowing them to fully embrace each moment even amidst the subtle click of my camera shutter (which I will silence as often as possible) ☺
At 29, I've been through a myriad of experiences, each contributing to my deeply empathetic nature, a quality that aligns seamlessly with the demands of this role.
In 2023, I lost my father to dementia— an experience that has fundamentally altered my perception of photographs.
Photographs have taken on a much deeper meaning to me. They now serve as a tangible link to the past and to the people we've loved/are still loving, becoming a way to reconnect with cherished memories.
Reflecting on these images captured two years before my father's passing, I'm struck by the trivial distractions that clouded my mind that day—The moisture in the air that was making my curly hair frizz up and my dissatisfaction with the outfit I chose. In hindsight, I long to reclaim that moment, to focus instead on the things that truly matter— The way my dads hands felt in mine, the warmth in his eyes and his infectious laughter. Why am I sharing this? Because I understand the ache of yearning to relive a moment in a more present way, and my goal is to do my best to spare you from experiencing this same feeling.
This loss was a profound turning point that reshaped both my outlook on life and my approach to photography.
It ignited a deep awareness of life's fleeting nature, underscoring the importance of remaining fully present in every moment. This awakening has propelled me further into the realm of documentary photography, where authenticity and raw emotion reign supreme and is the reason why ensuring your comfort behind the lens is so important to me.
My mission is simple: I want you to be fully immersed in the precious moments with your loved ones. Let me handle the task of capturing the memories while you embrace every second. Hold your partner close, breathe in their scent, and relish in the joy of the moment without fretting over achieving perfection in photos. It's often when we let go of the pursuit of flawlessness that the most genuine and captivating moments unfold before the lens.
So Who is Olivia?
I am a firm believer in turning pain into purpose.
I find immense joy from creating videos that authentically capture the essence of both my personal and professional life.
Family holds an unparalleled significance in my life, even amidst the occasional chaos they bring into my world.
There's no one I'd rather move through life with than my best friend and partner, David.
I can’t go more than a couple of days without hiking. Being in nature is my therapy and offers the solace and healing I need to thrive.
Classic movies + TV shows have my heart because they remind me of my Dad (I Love Lucy, Singing in the Rain, You Bet Your Life, Fiddler on the Roof, to name a few and a big reason why I prefer editing in black&white over color.
I have a diverse musical palate, but there's an undeniable allure to the old classics and their enduring charm that speaks to me — Artists such as Jim Croce, James Taylor, John Denver, Joan Baez, and Peter, Paul, and Mary will forever have my heart.
At the age of 18, I underwent spinal fusion surgery to correct my scoliosis. The journey of learning to walk again and adapting to my transformed body gave me a profound appreciation for the vessel I have been given and deep empathy for those less fortunate.
Stepping into the role of a photographer was a transformative journey that empowered me to break free from the suffocating grasp of social anxiety, reclaiming control over my life.
My eyes were recently opened to the amazing world of camping and I can’t believe I went so long without being a part of it.
I never considered myself a dog person until my boyfriend brought home our miniature Australian shepherd, Milly, named after a beloved movie character.
I have a passion for singing, but I find myself fitting the description of what some might call a "closet singer" — someone who primarily sings alone in the privacy of their room.
For me, there's nothing quite like winding down from a busy work day than the comforting ritual of preparing a meal while tuning in to a favorite podcast (currently engrossed in Armchair Expert).
Above all, I cherish connection with others, which is why I often describe myself as an open book.
